We recently had to make a big shift and to be honest, I was digging my heels in, I was in no mood to be dealing with this, I was in the “I don’t want to deal with this” mindset, called avoidance.  I didn’t want to shift but knew I had to do it for my own well-being.

I had grown to get comfortable in my mess, in my never-ending pile of stuff I was hoarding, mental, physical, spiritual, and emotional baggage, all the stuff I was hanging onto for no good reason other than it meant something at some point to me, the guilt trip I was giving to myself for not letting go, that I should hold onto all this stuff out of obligation to that very thing I was holding onto.

Holding onto:

-Weight

-Possessions

-Emotions

-People

-Places

I knew it was time to have a big clean-out, and I knew I needed it, yet I was avoiding the very thing I knew was going to be so good for me. The resistance was in letting go.

One thing I know for sure is, that when you know that you need to let go in order to progress, it can be a really tough step to take, because those very things you are holding onto, are holding you exactly where you are.  They hold you there like a magnet, keeping you the same, and will continue to remain that way unless you take that courageous step and make a shift.

And so, I did, I took the step, and made the shift, as hard and confronting as it was.

What I’ve learned from that is, what you continue to hold onto, will continue to hold you back.

If you are feeling stuck, or trapped in a cycle, it’s time to have a look at what you might be holding onto that is stopping you in your tracks.

When I decided to throw out, give away, and sell items that I had held onto for so long, some items over 25 years, making that decision was painful. However, once done, it felt like a massive weight had been lifted off my shoulders.

When I finally decided to let go of all that mental baggage, the old me I was hanging onto, I freed myself to move forward.

It’s amazing what clearing out both possessions and emotional baggage does to our physical, mental, spiritual, and emotional wellbeing. Uplifting is an understatement.

Additionally, when we let go of things, this propels us into new exciting possibilities. When you clear out the old, it makes way for the new to come in.

Whilst you hold onto old baggage, it leaves no room for the new to flow in, you’re just sitting and wallowing in the old stuff, with no progression.

The idea of clearing out house, can be applied to so many areas of life, and whilst initially letting go will be a challenge, the reward outweighs the tough decisions.

Let go to breakthrough, and release old stagnant energy.

Much Love

Loretta 🖤
