Pain has a funny way of teaching us the things we would otherwise have overlooked.

Pain makes us pay attention.

It shows us what is not working, what we need to fix.

No one likes to feel pain and most try to avoid it all together.

Either by:

  • Denial
  • Keeping busy
  • Masking it

The thing about pain is that the longer we:

  • Avoid
  • Suppress
  • Deny

The harder it hits us when we do finally surrender to it and feel it, walk through it and ultimately accept its blessing.

Although so very painful, it has the ability to transform us in ways we couldn’t have imagined had we not surrendered.

If we look at pain as a gift to learn, to have a deeper level of understanding, we will see that it has so much to offer us.

If we learn to adapt to pain and accept it’s all part of the process, let it move through us, we get to a level of learning that’s impossible to get otherwise.

Most spend their whole lives avoiding pain and miss out on the expansion that comes with accepting it.

Avoidance leads to more pain.

Acceptance leads to more growth.

It takes courage to face it, willpower to work through it, and offers profound understanding after.
