By tapping on these points while acknowledging and accepting stressful thoughts or feelings, EFT helps to calm the nervous system and release blocked energy. The Steps of EFT

  1. Identify the issue: Begin by identifying the specific aspect of stress you want to address. It could be a particular event, a recurring pattern, or a general feeling of overwhelm.
  2. Setup statement: Create a setup statement that acknowledges the issue and affirms self-acceptance. For example, “Even though I feel stressed about [the issue], I deeply and completely love and accept myself anyway.”
  3. Tap the points: Using your fingertips, tap gently on the designated acupressure points while repeating a reminder phrase that encapsulates the problem. These points include the side of the hand (karate chop point), the top of the head, the inner eyebrow, the side of the eye, under the eye, under the nose, the chin, the collarbone, under the arm, and the inside of the wrist.
  4. Repeat and reassess: Go through the tapping sequence multiple times, gradually shifting the focus from negative aspects to more positive and empowering statements. After each round, assess your level of stress on a scale of 0 to 10 and continue until you experience a noticeable reduction in intensity.
