I know this sounds like a bit of a provocative sort of title. There is a purpose for this.

I’m speaking to the topics of marketing business, clients, relationships, life, and all of the things around that meaning, I’m talking about quality over quantity.

When we talk about marketing, our businesses, our lives, what I see so many people do and I’ve done it myself, where we focus on the numbers, we focus on, how many people can we have, how many followers do we want? How many likes do we need? How many people do we need in our group? How many friends I have, I need it to be bigger, I need to bigger bigger, bigger.

In my experience I have found is if you take this approach the quality lacks, the engagement lacks the intimacy lacks. This approach often is displayed in many circles of friends, I’ve seen many people, and certainly have I’ve done this myself where we want these big circles of friends but we don’t have real quality, meaningful relationships.

One of the most successful women I know who I highly respect makes millions of dollars and is an amazing coach who has a small circle and is extremely particular about who enters that space and the quality of her relationships and her business is phenomenal.

I’ve seen this strategy implemented with huge success with many clients I’ve worked with. Really concentrating on the quality and not the quantity pays dividends tenfold in my experience. 

So, what I have validated from my own experiences and that of my clients is that the more intimate the relationship, the more quality relationship, the more aligned you are with the people in your field the better your tribe, business, relationships etc.

The more aligned you are with the clients in your business and the people that you’re connected with, the better your business is and the more you love your business in return.

The more you love your clients, the more your clients love you, the higher you get paid, and the quality of your relationships are deeper and more meaningful.

This approach applies to Business, Marketing, and Life in general in my experience.

If we have tight-knit relationships where we put a lot of time and effort into building the relationship and we hold the standards for those relationships, we find that the outcome is much more rewarding.

When we spend the time and effort to really connect in with our soulmate clients when we take the time and effort to deliver what it is they really need and also resonate with them on a deep level we have better outcomes.

We don’t have to be all things to all people we just have to be all of ourselves to those that resonate with us (our tribe).

We can just be ourselves with a select number of beautiful soulmate clients, and that’s enough, that’s enough to build a beautiful, sustainable, rewarding business and life just by connecting in with those, special people that resonate with us that know that we deliver a particular service that resonates with that, that’s all we need to do.

We don’t need to have everybody, we don’t need to have the masses to have a successful, rewarding business. I think there’s a massive fallacy out there that a large following, equals a large amount of money and it’s simply not true.

The moral of the story is that it’s not the size that matters, but the quality and how we use it.

When we’re dealing with our clients, set good values, good boundaries, high standards and keep yourself accountable at that level and you will create far more rewards than having more clients where your service levels are dropping, and you’re discounting fees or dropping your standards, or discounting your prices to try and get more people.

You are far better off in my experience focusing on the quality of the relationships and having a smaller, more intimate business relationships where you’re delivering more quality.

When you do this your tribe becomes evangelists, for your brand and for your business and for who you are because you’re really diving deep into the quality of the relationship rather than just getting the job done for as a number. 

I am sure you have experienced what it’s like to feel like you’re just a number, a time where you felt unimportant, where you felt not valued, where you felt like you’re just a number.

I am sure you have also experienced a time when you do feel that somebody really does actually care about you when you feel like somebody actually really does want to serve you, have your best interests at heart, and wants to provide value, respects you and wants to have you as a long-term customer. 

It’s best practice to always think of the longevity of the relationship, the quality and value you provide both in any relationship. If you just focus on the surface level stuff without the depth, the value, and the relationship just to appear to be bigger or to try and service every one or to try and get, the lion’s share you will fall on your face eventually. 

Spreading yourself too thin causes an array of problems both in business and in life, in my experience, you wind up having nothing much meaningful and you’re worn out, you’re frustrated, you don’t have a business that you love or respect, and you don’t have a great friendship Circle. Family members, miss out, friends miss out, you miss out and life just becomes less rewarding. 

If the only takeaway you get from this is to really just focus on the quality of your relationships, the value you are providing, and the longevity of those beautiful relationships you will build than my job here is done.

Giving more value to a smaller select number of people that really resonate with you, rather than trying to be all things to all people and spreading yourself too far too thin never works out well.
